Blood NAD concentrations increased in all three NMN groups. The researchers also reported that the tested amounts were well tolerated during the study period (3).

Another 12-week study gave older adults 250 mg of NMN daily. Researchers reported higher blood NAD+ levels and selected changes in walking speed and sleep measurements. Not every physical measure changed compared with the placebo group (4).

The honest verdict

NR has strong evidence that it can increase NAD-related markers.

NMN does too.

No large, direct human comparison has established that one gives every person better healthy aging, energy, or physical function results.

The best choice may come down to the formula itself:
