Bryan Johnson's supplements: the NAD+ part
His protocol notes are public. On NAD+:
In 2021 he raised his daily NR, an NAD+ precursor, from 250 mg to 500 mg, then to 750 mg. Each step followed an NAD+ blood test.
In April 2023 he tried NMN and NR for 90 days each and wrote that both worked for his NAD+ levels.
His current protocol, updated January 2026, lists 300 mg of NR a day inside Blueprint's Essential Capsules, alongside 20-plus other ingredients. NMN is no longer on the list.
The useful part is the pattern: one NAD+ precursor, every day, at a dose the human trials used, checked against a measurement.
NAD+ falls with age. NMN raised blood NAD+ in human trials at 250 to 900 mg a day. So did NR.

Questions before you buy
Does Bryan Johnson take NMN?
Not on his current list. His protocol, updated January 2026, gets its NAD+ precursor from 300 mg of NR a day. In 2023 he wrote that he tried NMN and NR for 90 days each and both worked for his NAD+ levels.
NMN or NR: which should I take?
Both are raw material for NAD+, and both raised blood NAD+ in human trials. NMN is one step closer to NAD+ in the pathway.
Can I just buy what he takes?
You can. Blueprint's Essential Capsules carry 300 mg of NR plus 20-plus vitamins and extracts, at $49 for 30 days, checked Oct 2026. Its refund policy states it can't accept returns of supplements. It's NR in a multi-ingredient capsule, so it wasn't scored against the NMN bottles here.
Is NMN safe with my medications?
In the human trials above, NMN was well tolerated up to 900 mg a day. On prescription medication, especially blood thinners? Ask your doctor first. Do not use this product if you are pregnant, nursing or under 18.

Ok, this was recommended to me by my doctor - yes, you heard that right! My actual doctor told me to start taking this - This EXACT brand! Because it has the Resvirotrol (spelling?) also in it which she said was important.
